One of the few spots with decent wind yesterday on the Lahaina side.
4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
2ft at 17s SSW 200º
1.8ft at 13s SSW 200º
South swell down to 13s while a new 17s energy shows at Barbers. Below are the maps of May 12 through 14 that show the angular spreading fetch that originated it.
Unfortunately, the wind is blowing from the south. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Hanalei
1.6ft @ 11s from 308° (WNW)
Mokapu
3.5ft @ 7s from 94° (E)
Very small 11s energy from the NW at Hanalei. Below are the maps of April 15 through 18 that show the fetch that originated it.
This is the Surfline forecast calling for a late afternoon rise locally with almost 3ft 11s at sunset (possible chest to head high at Hookipa).
This morning there should only be the small easterly windswell instead. Hookipa good for snorkeling again, small waves on eastern exposures.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
