Friday 11 2 16 morning call

A SUP foiling and a shortboard session for me yesterday. The pro men and women categories at the Aloha Classic were won by Camille Juban and Sarah Hauser. This is a photo from this gallery by Jimmie Hepp. He's got more on his facebook page.

5am significant buoy readings
South shore
Lanai
1.2ft @ 11s from 212° (SW)
0.9ft @ 14s from 208° (SSW)

Lanai is the only buoy that registers some small energy from the south. Ala Moana looks meager in the webcam.

North shore
Pauwela
4ft @ 8s from 63° (ENE)
2.6ft @ 11s from 325° (NW)

Small day today on the north shore and it should be even smaller tomorrow once the leftover NW energy will completely disappear. I already did a beach report at 6am (scroll down to see it after this post).

Wind map at noon. The Aloha Classic will probably continue today with the amateur categories.

North Pacific has a vast area of NW winds, but the fetch with a direct aim is relatively small. Better than nothing though.

South Pacific has a small fetch N of New Zealand. A little closer than usual, so we might get something out of it in a week.

Morning sky.
