Wednesday 1 15 20 morning call

Yesterday morning before dawn, the Kahului harbor had no wind, so I drove there in the hope of some foiling action. Didn't get that, but I was happy to be there and watch this.

I drove back to Hookipa and surfed windy The Point instead. This is later in the day, out of this album by Jimmie Hepp.

4am significant buoy readings and discussion
South shore
Barbers
1.8ft @ 13s from 231° (WSW)

No idea of what that energy at Barbers is, check the Lahaina webcam to see if there's anything.

North shore
Pauwela
7.5ft @ 11s from 71° (ENE)
6.6ft @ 8s from 62° (ENE)

After many days of 10-12ft readings, the windswell is now starting to coming down a little, as the trades relax a bit. It's still the only energy in the water so, just like yesterday, Hookipa and the easterly exposures will have waves (and wind).

Wind map at noon

Kahului Tides
High Tide     High Tide     Low Tide     Low Tide       Sunrise   Sunset
6:04a  +2.4   6:25p  +1.2   1:05p  +0.5  11:42p  +0.5    7:07a   6:07p

North Pacific has a NW fetch and the windswell fetch (getting shorter, so the period will get shorter).

Nothing from the South.

Morning sky.
