Hookipa yesterday.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 2.1ft, 14s, S 180º
- 0.6ft, 20s, SSW 210º
Lanai
- 2.1ft, 13s, S 170º
- 1.9ft, 9s, S 170º
- 0.4ft, 20s, WSW 240º
Both buoys show 2ft 13-14s of southerly energy and a smidge of 20s SSW that I couldn't find a fetch for, so I wouldn't expect that to grew much. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Mokapu
- 4.3ft, 8s, ENE 65º
- 3.4ft, 5s, ENE 70º
- 0.8ft, 11s, ENE 65º
Only easterly windswell on the north shore also today. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
