My computer keeps resurrecting and saving me from the nightmare of learning a new operating system that is clearly not designed the way my mind works.
Blog reader Shep Nelson made this Maliko downwind video and I'm happy to share it. He was one of the many that participated to a downwind race in Oahu yesterday, won by Kane (on a Lift 120) and Gaby (on Gofoil RS850).
We sell Lift, Gofoil, F-one and Armstrong foils at Hi-Tech.
8am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 3.1ft, 15s, S 175º
Lanai
- 1.7ft, 14s, S 190º
Big difference between the two buoys. It could be that it's hitting Oahu more than us, this is a set at Ala Moana.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Hanalei
- 6.1ft, 8s, ENE 70º
- 3.9ft, 4s, ENE 70º
Mokapu
- 8.2ft, 8s, E 80º
Windswell jumped up and turned more east at Mokapu. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to shoulder high and windy.
Epic downwinders conditions again.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
