Hookipa yesterday.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 1.9ft, 14s, SSW 195º
Lanai
- 0.8ft, 17s, SSW 210º
- 1ft, 13s, SW 215º
Mix of SSW energies at the buoys. Below are the maps of June 1 through 5 that show the fetches that generated (black stick). Starting tomorrow, we should start seeing more southerly energy from the fetch on the 5th with the yellow stick.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW001
- 3.2ft, 10s, NW 325º
Hanalei
- 1.6ft, 10s, NNW 345º
- 1.3ft, 11s, NW 320º
Mokapu
- 3.1ft, 7s, E 95º
- 3.5ft, 4s, ENE 75º
- 1ft, 11s, NNE 25º
Small NW swell continues to decline, I'm actually surprised it's lasting this long. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
