Monday 7 21 25 morning call

Yesterday's Molokai to Oahu race streaming was a ground breaking first. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend you do something like this. You can replay both the streaming and the dots and synchronize the starts. That way you'll have a clear idea of what's happening in the race, while the commentators were a bit clueless about the standings.

Below is the streaming, these are the dots. Final results here. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, I recommend to watch the last 20 minutes of the race starting at minute 1:47.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
      • 1.5ft
        , 13s, SSW 200º

Lanai
      • 1.3ft
        , 13s, S 190º

Small southerly energy at the buoys, but I caught a nice set on the webcam. Check the
Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore

Mokapu

            • 6.4ft
              , 8s, ENE 60º
            • 4.4ft
              , 4s, ENE 70º
Elevated ENE windswell in the water. Home guess for Hookipa is around chest high with possible bigger sets.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
