I decided to keep a log of my indo sessions, so why not post it on the blog for the hard core aficionados...
I haven't busted the cameras out yet, so maybe this will give me the motivation to do so.
I'm at my favorite spot in Indo and the waves are absolutely awesome as usual.
Day 1 - July 30. I totally sucked in my first session. A month of longboarding in Maui made my shortboard paddling weak and my standing up action slow.
Session 2 was redemption time and I did a lot better. Conditions were awesome at low tide with head high plus, very clean offshore.
8.5
Day 2 - July 31. Session 1 had high tide and no offshores but plenty wall.
6.8
Session 2. First hour was a 9 with solid head and a half occasionally pushing double and beautiful drops and walls. I got a little cover up. Second hour I got caught inside 3 times and the paddle back to the lineup was brutal: 20 minutes. I pretty much paddled the whole time. After the third time, I couldn't even paddle back out and waited for the boat to pick me up in the middle of the ocean.
Pretty much surfed out already after only 2 days... Hopefully the waves will slow down a bit mid week so that I can rest a little.
Can't believe I just wrote that... what a great problem to have!

good job GP ! hope you post pics and video as well ....
I kinda wanted to take a break from blogging, but since there's someone reading, I'll try to do what comes graceful. I'm posting from my phone, so it will be a little more basic. But I should manage to post gopro shots... If and when I take it out. Big swell this weekend will hopefully see me ready. Thanks for reading
great thank to you ! yes next two days looks goood ....
anyone kitesurfing or windsurfing out there this period ?? ;-)
Actually, next two days are the smallest of the next two weeks and nobody sailing where I am
ok ....have a good time there !
Hi Cammar
one question, could you pls tell me if in Indonesia there are good windsurfing spots? I mean, where I could find waves around 2 meters more or less and side shore wind for 5.3 or smaller sails, of course hoping in good luck as always..
Thanks
Lorenzo
Ciao Lorenzo, Indonesia is not famous for its windsurfing conditions. The first spot that comes in mind is lakey peak in sumbawa, but, as you said, you need a bit of luck, plus it's a mission to get there with the gear and, last but not least, the surfers won't like you.
Occasionally you can windsurf in canggu in Bali, but the wind is slightly onshore and, as such, better suited for kiting. That's all I know. I would go somewhere else. Cheers
Thanks a lot for the info, that's what I supposed
The best would be Maui, but around Christmas time would be very expensive from Italy, as you know.
Cheers
If it's Christmas time, delete all I wrote about indo as the trades won't be blowing. Start saving and come to Maui or check the cost for cape town.
