And fortunately Jimmie Hepp keeps shooting his windsurfing subscribers at Hookipa. This is my pick of his daily gallery. Btw, seen the lack of good surfing conditions, even I went windsurfing yesterday!
4am significant buoy readings and discussion
Barbers
1.7ft @ 13s from 197° (SSW)
0.6ft @ 20s from 202° (SSW)
Lanai
2.3ft @ 13s from 183° (S)
Couple of feet 13s should make for small but fun waves in Lahaina. Barbers has a small 20s readings too, which should help. Check the webcam before going though, unfortunately it doesn't seem like much in the dark. Here's a little set.
Below is the collage of the fetches maps of September 27, 28, 29 and 30. The 20s energy might come from the one circled in yellow because we don't know if it's oriented towards us or not. Direction should be around 190 though, so who knows...
North shore
Mokapu
8.3ft @ 9s from 54° (ENE)
NE windswell is still up, size should be similar to yesterday at Hookipa and on eastern exposures.
Wind map at noon.
North Pacific has a nice N fetch (6ft 11s from 349 on Monday by Surfline) and the windswell one.
South Pacific has a fetch in the Tasman Sea partially blocked by New Zealand and a small S one.
Morning sky.
