Here's a clip from yesterday's wing downwinder. I'm tuning the new Armstrong 935 mast and I'm far from having it dialed, so please don't take any of the things I say about it as definitive. I still got plenty things to try before I'm ready to do a proper review.

No southerly energy at the buoys.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.

Traces of NW energy are the the upstream buoys, most likely coming from the fetch NE of Japan in the map of December 5 below.
The easterly windswell (9ft 9s at Hilo) will be largely dominant though. Home guess for Hookipa is around head to head and a third and windy.
