I went on my paypal account and found a bunch of recent donations that I wasn't notified of. Here's the list of readers that donated and that I thank very much for the support: David, Dmitri, Shep, Michelle, Joe, Jake, David, Kristofer, Michael, Francesco, Semi, Jan and Dan.
Also thanks to Zach who donated with Venmo (which I prefer, since Paypal charges a fee).
The last week of the year is when I remind the readers that they can
show their appreciation for the work done during 2022 with the
Paypal button on the right or via my venmo account @Giampaolo-Cammarota. Thank
you.

The steady supply of NW energy that has characterized the last couple of weeks continues at the buoys, this time from a more westerly direction. Below are the maps of December 25 through 29 that show the fetch that generated it.
This is the Surfline forecast for Maui's north shore calling for 4ft 13s for today and 6ft 14s for tomorrow. Original mean direction was around 300 degrees and that means that most spots will be sheltered by the upstream islands and the West Maui Mountain (Hookipa instead has a shadow line of 305 and will get more than the spots down the coast towards Kahului). At the same time, the fetch was quite wide, so the more northerly components will have a easier time reaching our shores.
Home guess for Hookipa is a challenging one, probably around head and a half and clean (no wind the whole morning).
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
