Saturday 12 24 22 morning call

The last week of the year is when I remind the readers that they can show their appreciation for the work done during 2022 with a donation. Thank you.

Yesterday was another day of excellent surfing conditions thanks to the prolonged light Kona. Hookipa in the afternoon.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
No southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

A new fairly large NW pulse is at the outer buoys and will provide another day of big waves on the north shore. Below is the Surfline forecast for the next two days, that shows another very similar large pulse also for tomorrow.

These pulses come from when the fetch shown in the maps collection I posted on the 22 extended to be very close to the islands, so expect tons of energy and lots of sets of different sizes. The light kona will continue also today, home guess for Hookipa is for double overhead plus and clean faces, but with waves breaking in different spots and some closeout sets.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
