New long period NW swell is at the outer buoys and will pick up locally throughout the day. Below are the maps of December 3 though 5. The fetch that generated it is indicated with a black arrow. The red arrows instead point to the fetch that generated the 14-15s NNE energy that is also at the buoys. Lastly, the blue arrow indicates another NW fetch that will provide a small swell around Wednesday.
Below is the Surfline forecast showing a peak early tomorrow morning at 7ft 14s from 326.
Unfortunately Surfline doesn't offer the buoy graphs anymore, so it's hard to calculate when a swell will arrive in Maui and we have to rely on the forecast and on the observation of webcams. A good one to look at is the Sunset Beach one which this morning only shows very small sets. That means that the swell will be noticeable in Maui only in the late afternoon.
Home guess for Hookipa in the morning is for head high peaky and clean waves (no wind until around 10am). Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
