The harbor turned on in the afternoon with waves of extremely high quality thanks to the offshore wind.
I surfed with the ever so lovely Tomoko who, as usual, was taking photos of everyone. I bought the 6.0 Jiimmy Lewis Destroyer a few years ago with a couple of spots in mind, but the board is so good/fun in such a variety of conditions that I now use it 90% of the times I shortboard.
I enjoy surfing with Abraham. He told me that he hasn't surfed the harbor for 50 years. Last time he did, he was with a friend who had a brand new board and since it was big and there were no leashes yet (!), his buddy lost his board and it ended up on the highway...

XL NW swell peaked yesterday and today it should slowly decline. The buoys still show pretty big numbers, so Hookipa probably still too big for the most, while other spots might open up.
