Sunday 2 12 23 morning call

A set at Pavillions in the morning. Head to head and a third was a correct call.

When the trades are blowing, the same size swell becomes bigger in afternoon at the Point. My home guess for Hookipa is always for the morning.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

Lanai is recording the low long period energy from the Tasman Sea I discussed yesterday. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

Mokapu

  • 10.6ft
    , 11s, E 90º

A small NW swell is predicted to be in water (1ft 16s at 6am and 2ft 15s at 6pm on Surfline), but it doesn't appear to be at the buoys, or it's too low compared to the raging easterly windswell to be recorded. So, once again, it's going to be all about the 10.6ft 11s from 90 degrees windswell that is at Mokapu. Home guess for Hookipa is head to head and a half and windy, much bigger on eastern exposures.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
