Kanaha yesterday.
6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 1.8ft, 9s, SSE 165º
- 2.4ft, 6s, SSE 160º
- 0.5ft, 15s, S 180º
Lanai
- 1.2ft, 11s, S 175º
- 0.6ft, 15s, S 180º
Both buoys show half foot of 15s southerly energy. Couldn't find a source in the fetch maps and that's never a good sign.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Mokapu
- 3ft, 8s, E 90º
- 2.1ft, 5s, NE 50º
Only tiny NE windswell on the north shore also today. Mokapu shows also 3ft 8s but from 90 degrees, so home guess for Hookipa is flat to knee high, bigger on eastern exposures.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
Morning sky.
