New NW energy is predicted to pick up during the day, but there's no sign of it yet at the buoys. Below are the maps of April 2 through 5 showing the fetch that generated it.


Below is the Maui North Shore Surfline forecast for the next two days. Although I like the "body parts" height indications, I usually never include their guess for the size as it does not specify for which spot. My home guess for Hookipa today based on the buoy readings is for around head high and it's still only a guess that could be wrong. But one thing I know for sure: it's not going to be waist to shoulder high at Hookipa AND Kanaha AND the harbor at the same time, just to name a few spots. Put your time into observing the size at the spots of your interest under different size, period and direction of swells and in short time you'll do better than a generic computer model.
