Friday 6 17 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers
0.9ft at 13s S 180º

Small southerly swell at Barbers. No signs (but it might be in the water nonetheless) at 5am of the Tasman Sea swell that should start arriving today and is predicted by Surfline to reach 2ft 17s tomorrow. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
2.6ft @ 14s from 304° (WNW)

Hanalei
1.3ft @ 16s from 312° (NW)

Waimea
1ft @ 16s from 311° (NW)

Mokapu
5.4ft @ 8s from 42° (NE)

The small WNW-NW swell I indicated the fetches of yesterday is at the upstream buoys, but the energy that will be most noticeable in the water is the elevated 8s NE windswell at Mokapu. Home guess for Hookipa is for chest to head high with occasional NW lines in the mix.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
