Sunday 6 5 22 morning call

Kiters out at the Kite and Wing festival yesterday at Kanaha. Partial results on their webpage where you also find a link to the live feed. Today is the last day.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers

1.5ft at 13s SSW 200º
0.5ft at 17s S 185º

Old long lasting swell is down to 1.5ft 13s while the new half foot 17s energy at Barbers should be coming from the fetch in the map collage of May 28 through 31 below.

Surfline was calling for 1.5ft 17 at 3am for this new swell, so I guess it's either late or smaller than predicted. As a result, the waves seem to be very small this morning, but once in a while there's a decent set. They should increase a bit in the afternoon but still with low consistency. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
1.6ft @ 10s from 347° (NNW)

Hanalei
1ft @ 11s from 313° (NW)

Waimea

1.2ft @ 8s from 4° (N)
0.8ft @ 11s from 324° (NW)
0.4ft @ 16s from 300° (WNW)

Mokapu

1.6ft @ 7s from 76° (ENE)
1.2ft @ 9s from 52° (ENE)

New NW energy from the fetches highlighted in yesterday's post looks very minimal at the buoys, so I'm calling for close to flat conditions for the north shore.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
