Hookipa yesterday afternoon.
3am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
2.2ft @ 8s from 160° (SSE)
2.1ft @ 11s from 168° (SSE)
Small short period energy at Barbers, there shouldn't be much today. Check the Lahaina
webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Waimea
1.3ft @ 13s from 341° (NNW)
Kaneohe Bay
5.2ft @ 8s from 68° (ENE)
Below are the maps of Oct 9 and 10 showing the weak fetch in the NW corner that generated the very modest NW energy at the Waimea buoy.
The declining windswell will be still largely dominating locally. Home guess for Hookipa is around shoulder high and sloppy, bigger on eastern exposures.
Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
