Tuesday 10 12 21 morning call

Thanks to Taka for the donation.

No photos from yesterday, let me resume the photos from my August trip. This is the caption I wrote at the time: The Colombia river gorge is an amazing place. The wind blows in the opposite direction of the current and creates some rolling waves that are perfect for wing foiling. I spent three days there and had so much fun that I'm already thinking to go back next year...

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers

2.1ft @ 17s from 181° (S)
1.6ft @ 14s from 186° (S)

Barbers shows energy in the 14s and 17s bands. The latter is what Pat Caldwell called the third phase of this swell. I'm going to post again the maps (Sept 30 through Oct 5) of the fetch that created this very long lasting swell.

Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Like it often happens, strong trades on the north shore are messing with the usual glassiness and there's an onshore flow instead.

North shore
Kaneohe Bay
6.5ft @ 9s from 65° (ENE)

Windswell still pumping, home guess for Hookipa is around head high and sloppy, bigger on eastern exposures.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).

Fetches map

South Pacific
(about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
