Sunday 10 24 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday was pretty spectacular (so it has been for the few days, actually). Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

When I stopped by later in the afternoon, Kai Lenny pirouetting with his kiteboard kept sneaking in the corner of the long distance highway shots.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.3ft @ 14s from 197° (SSW)

Small SSW energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Hanalei
3.2ft @ 11s from 347° (NNW)

Waimea

3.5ft @ 9s from 3° (N)
2.9ft @ 11s from 347° (NNW)

Kaneohe Bay
2.9ft @ 7s from 53° (ENE)

NNW swell peaked and today it's on the way down. But that's only temporary, as a new long period NNW one will be on its heels. Below is the Surfline forecast that calls for 2ft 19s at 3pm today and a peak of 5.3ft 15s tomorrow evening. Notice how many different energies are predicted to be in the water these days, as a result of the multiple sources we've observed on the fetch maps.

Home guess for Hookipa in the morning is head to possibly still head and a half.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
