Thursday 10 21 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning. Photo by Patrick Wardle.

South shore had waves too. This is Dave Kalama cross stepping in front of a lens.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
3.1ft @ 14s from 239° (WSW)

Unlike Lanai, Barbers is open to wrap of NW energy. That's the case today and that means that we can't really know how much southerly energy from yesterday's swell is in the water this morning. It was 2.3ft 15s yesterday, hopefully there's around 2ft 14s today. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
5.2ft @ 12s from 344° (NNW)

N
7.8ft @ 13s from 333° (NNW)

Hanalei
5.8ft @ 13s from 335° (NNW)

Waimea
5ft @ 13s from 332° (NNW)

NNW swell looks pretty solid at the upstream buoys, even more solid at the N one, indicating that the most of the energy is missing us to our east. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half with possible bigger sets and clean.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
