Monday 3 28 22 morning call

Hookipa yesterday late morning.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore.
No southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina and Kihei webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
N
7.2ft @ 8s from 32° (NE)

Hanalei
5.1ft @ 8s from 31° (NE)

Waimea

3.5ft @ 9s from 354° (N)
2.4ft @ 8s from 357° (N)

Pauwela

3.4ft @ 8s from 360° (N)
3.3ft @ 9s from 346° (NNW)

Mostly N to NE short period energy at the buoys. The N one shows 7.2ft 8s but I have to base my home guess for Hookipa on Pauwela, so I'm calling for chest to head high and relatively clean thanks to the lack of wind until around 9am. It might get a bit bigger in the afternoon, IF those 7.2ft 8s make it here, but at 8s the energy decays very quickly with travel.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
