9 6 15 morning call

My friends at Manaloha rent a car told me that they're having a special for the month of September: 10% discount for every booking of at least a week.

Fantastic day of surf on the south shore yesterday. East shore must have been big too.
I had two sessions, here's some gopro shots.

First one was at a challenging wave makena side. Waves were hard to read, gonna be too late for this one.

Too late for next one too! I ate a lot of shit and one pinned me to the bottom, fortunately with no cuts.

My version of the drop wallet cutback... losing balance in front of a closeout.

Back foot was on the bottom turn inside rail, now is moving on the top turn inside rail. That adjustment is even more critical on SUP boards, because they have wider tails.

SUP session at 1000 peaks was a piece of cake in comparison. Occasionally, head high waves were lining up at high tide.

 Buoys
NW
7.3ft @ 14s from 100° (E)
3.5ft @ 10s from 39° (NE)
3.3ft @ 5s from 97° (E)

N
9.3ft @ 14s from 99° (E)
4ft @ 10s from 98° (E)

Pauwela
10.3ft @ 13s from 79° (ENE)

Barbers
3ft @ 17s from 167° (SSE)
2.1ft @ 12s from 186° (S)

1.7ft @ 9s from 238° (WSW)

Impressive reading at the Pauwela buoy: 10.3ft @ 13s from 79° (ENE), but I'd rather tackle the south swell still hitting at a healthy 3f 17s.

Lahaina cam showing plenty energy.
Another sunny windless day. MC2km map at noon below.

Wind map shows the three small fetches of the hurricanes and the monster fetch down south. Another big south for next weekend and first half of next week.
