Wednesday 10 13 21 morning call

Another spectacular downwing run yesterday. This photo of Kanaha shows how much wind there was. This is my friend Paolo, who arrived in Maui a couple of months before me back in early 2001. I bet he had that sail with him already.

Hookipa later in the afternoon.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
3ft @ 14s from 185° (S)

South swell down to 14s but still 3 ft at Barbers. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Kaneohe Bay
6.9ft @ 10s from 68° (ENE)

Another day of pumping windswell and wind. Home guess for Hookipa is overhead and sloppy, bigger on eastern exposures.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).

Fetches map
(circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific
(about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):

South Pacific
(about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):

Morning sky.

Wind map didn't get updated again today.. really wish they were better about keeping the maps up to date because those maps seems to be the most accurate forecast.
