Monday 11 1 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday morning was pretty gorgeous.

Matt Kinoshita ripping at Middles.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
No southerly energy at Barbers (but could be masked by the NW wrap). Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Today really there is not much.

North shore
NW101
7.4ft @ 13s from 329° (NW)

Hanalei

6.9ft @ 14s from 332° (NNW)
4.4ft @ 13s from 321° (NW)

Waimea

7.1ft @ 14s from 326° (NW)
3.2ft @ 13s from 323° (NW)

NW swell picked up as predicted and also this morning shows what most forecasts predicted: 7ft 14s. Since it's now a full 24 hours of no wind, the conditions this morning are going to be particularly clean. The medium period and the moderate size will make for more peeling waves and less closeouts. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead and a mark of 9+, potentially even 10 thanks to the early morning very light offshores. Stay tuned for a beach report later.
