Monday 11 8 21 morning call

Fun waves for the Surf Bash contest at Hookipa yesterday. Here's some pics I took starting with girls and ending with the Young bros.

3-4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers

1.2ft @ 14s from 178° (S)
1.2ft @ 11s from 217° (SW)
0.4ft @ 22s from 188° (S)

Lovely smidget of 22s recorded by Barbers. That is probably not noticeable in the water yet, but it's a a good sign for bigger energy of a new decent size swell that should definitely be bigger tomorrow and should last a few days. Meanwhile, the other energies should still provide some background waves.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Hanalei

3ft @ 11s from 350° (N)
0.8ft @ 16s from 353° (N)

Waimea

2.5ft @ 11s from 349° (NNW)
2.5ft @ 7s from 28° (NNE)
2.4ft @ 11s from 351° (N)

A new minor NW swell is predicted to slowly rise all day (the 16s reading at Hanalei might be it). Surfline calls for 1ft 16s by the end of the day and 1.7ft 12s tomorrow. Below are the maps of Nov 4 through 6 that show the fetch that generated it. Nothing to be excited about, as you can see.

The old energy is now at 2.5ft 11s at Waimea and based on that my home guess for Hookipa is for chest to occasionally head high waves.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
