Sunday 11 28 21 morning call

No photos from yesterday. This is Kai Lenny in a photo by Erik Aeder. I like watching Kai doing anything he does in the water, but, somehow, I have a special appreciation for his kiting. He obviously carries the skills from all the disciplines across all the disciplines themselves, but in the kitesurfing one they seem to put him in a different league from the other kiters.

NW swell continues to decline (now down to 10-11s), but still lingering around. New long period NW energy will be on the rise in the late afternoon. The directions at the NW buoys are contrasting, so let's look at the fetch that generated it. Below are the maps of Nov 24 through 27. I put black arrows on the fetch that I think generated the energy that we will receive. The red arrows indicate another fetch that, at the same time, generated a much more westerly swell, which will receive a lot less of.

Below is the Surfline forecast for the next couple of days. Unfortunately, the trades will be from a NE direction, which will bring plenty chop in the lineups. Home guess for Hookipa this morning is around head high.
