Thursday 5 20 21 morning call

Going to Oahu today to fix a couple of fingers, not sure I'll be able to post afterwards, so expect a possible break for a few days.

Hookipa yesterday morning. Jackson Bunch.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
0.9ft @ 18s from 196° (SSW)

Lanai
0.7ft @ 18s from 179° (S)

Surprising small 18s energy is picked up by both buoys. Couldn't find a possible source for it and there's not really much on the cam. Check the Lahaina or Kihei webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
3.4ft @ 12s from 309° (WNW)

Hanalei
3.3ft @ 13s from 303° (WNW)

Waimea
2.5ft @ 13s from 305° (WNW)

Pauwela

4.6ft @ 8s from 58° (ENE)
2.4ft @ 6s from 55° (ENE)
2.3ft @ 5s from 72° (ENE)
2ft @ 13s from 322° (NW)

Below are the graph of Pauwela together with yesterday's prediction and the Surfline forecast. Notice how the small WNW swell never picked up more than 2ft locally and 2ft 13s is exactly what predicted by Surfline.

Between that and the ENE windswell, home guess for Hookipa is for chest to head high.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
