Thursday 5 6 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday afternoon. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.5ft @ 13s from 197° (SSW)

Lanai

1.4ft @ 13s from 184° (S)

Small southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina or Kihei webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Small and onshore this morning.

North shore
Pauwela

4.3ft @ 8s from 29° (NNE)
1.9ft @ 6s from 71° (ENE)

Small northerly windswell at Pauwela should give Hookipa (and eastern exposures) waves in the waist to shoulder high range.

Let me point out a flash flood watch posted on this page:
Deep tropical moisture combined with increasing instability associated with an upper disturbance moving into the area will bring the threat of locally heavy rainfall and thunderstorms statewide.

Windguru shows heavy rain tonight at 5pm. And a hell lot of wind in the next 10 days.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
