New northerly energy pulse is rising at the buoys. Below are the maps of October 4 through 7 that show the fetch that generated it. It started from a direction around 345-350 and then it moved in a more northerly position. The low in the last map is predicted to stay in place for a long time (about a week), completely killing the trades flow and at the same time supplying consistent elevated medium period energy from the north. Plenty excellent surfing conditions ahead.
Below is the Surfline forecast for the next couple of days, calling for 7ft 13s tonight at sunset.
Home guess for Hookipa is around head high to start the day with, rapidly increasing throughout the day up to double overhead at sunset. No wind until around 10am, when a light onshore flow is predicted to start.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
