7am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
- 1.5ft, 14s, S 185º
- 0.8ft, 17s, S 175º
Barbers
- 1.6ft, 15s, S 190º
The numbers at the buoys are ok, but this swell has looked smaller on the webcam than the buoys from the beginning. The sets are actually not bad, but it's very slow due to the angular spreading nature of it. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Pauwela
- 3.7ft, 8s, NE 55º
- 2.5ft, 5s, E 80º
- 1.6ft, 6s, NE 50º
Northerly energy disappeared from all buoys, only small windswell on the north shore today. Home guess for Hookipa is for waist to chest high.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
