Beautiful conditions yesterday at Hookipa in the morning.
Much bigger and a lot less clean at sunset.
6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
- 2.3ft, 13s, SW 220º
- 1.2ft, 14s, S 180º
Barbers
- 1.4ft, 14s, SSW 205º
Small southerly energy at the buoys, check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW001
- 6.5ft, 10s, N 10º
Hanalei
- 7.6ft, 12s, N 355º
Waimea
- 6.6ft, 13s, N 0º
Pauwela
- 7.3ft, 11s, NNW 345º
- 2.6ft, 6s, N 350º
NNW energy is still up at Pauwela and it's predicted to come down and turn more north throughout the day. Also today the onshore flow in the afternoon will degrade the conditions. Home guess for Hookipa in the morning is for head and a half to double and a bit stormy.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
