North shore
NW001
- 11.5ft, 11s, NNW 345º
Hanalei
- 11.5ft, 12s, NNW 330º
Waimea
- 8.6ft, 11s, NNW 330º
Pauwela
- 7.1ft, 11s, NNW 330º
- 4.7ft, 9s, NW 325º
- 2.3ft, 6s, NNW 340º
Closely generated short period NNW energy is at the buoys and it might also increase throughout the day locally. It might also be that the upstream buoys are higher because they're closer to the source. Below are the maps of October 18 and 19 that show the fetch that generated the swell.
Despite the lack of wind, the vicinity of the source might bring a character of storminess to the waves. Faces should be clean, but breaking pattern might be a bit disorganized. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
