For a change, the ladies heats had the best waves at the Aloha Classic at Hookipa yesterday. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album. Also today the live stream will be on the IWT Youtube channel.

Similarly to yesterday, small NW energy will provide Hookipa with occasional head high sets in the midst of the much more consistent although disorganized windswell waves. Below are the maps of October 21 through 23. The black arrow indicates the small low that generated it. Notice how fast it moved across the great circle lines in those 48 hours, never a good thing for wave generation. We also can't tell how strong or weak the fetch was in between those samples.
The Surfline forecast below indicates a bit a peak on Wednesday at 3.4ft 11s. Looking at the wind forecast too, it's very likely that the Aloha Classic organizers will try to run all the remaining heats between today and tomorrow.
