Hookipa yesterday morning.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
- 1.1ft, 15s, SSW 195º
Barbers
- 1.5ft, 14s, S 190º
Small southerly energy at the buoys. Below are the maps of November 10 through 12 that show the fetch that generated it.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW001
- 4.8ft, 13s, N 10º
Hanalei
- 7.1ft, 13s, N 350º
Waimea
- 5ft, 11s, N 355º
- 3.3ft, 13s, N 355º
Reflecting the path of the fetch, the NW swell turned straight north and should be slowly declining all day. Home guess for Hookipa is head and a half to possibly still double and no wind until around 10am.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
