Thursday 11 17 22 morning call

The first classic Hookipa day of the winter came late this year. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album. I was sitting next to Paul and Sophie who also posted a couple of albums: part one and part two.

With so many pro photogs shooting the windsurfers, I focused on Lanes where the show was just as good: Jesse Richman.

Matt Meola totally ignoring a possible barrel behind him...

... in order to find some air time at the end.

No southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

NW swell peaked yesterday but it's still in the water while a second more northerly pulse will rise in the afternoon locally. Home guess for Hookipa is double overhead with no wind in the morning.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
