Hookipa yesterday.
This video illustrates the two epic downwinders I did yesterday.
6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion. South shore
Barbers
- 2.3ft, 13s, WNW 300º
- 2.5ft, 9s, SSE 150º
North shore
NW100
- 6.4ft, 14s, NW 315º
- 6.9ft, 9s, ESE 105º
NW101
- 5.7ft, 13s, NNE 25º
- 7.2ft, 8s, ESE 105º
N
- 7.1ft, 12s, NE 40º
- 5.9ft, 8s, ESE 105º
Waimea
- 3.9ft, 13s, N 10º
- 4.3ft, 10s, NE 35º
- 1.4ft, 13s, NNW 340º
Pauwela
- 6.3ft, 9s, ENE 60º
- 4ft, 14s, N 10º
- 4.7ft, 5s, ENE 75º
Weird that there's a solid NW reading only at one of the NW buoys. We'll trust Waimea and Pauwela instead, which both show 4ft 13-14s from 10 degrees. On top of that, Pauwela also show high ENE windswell. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and half and strong easterlies.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
