Hookipa yesterday afternoon.
4am Surfline
significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.7ft @ 12s from 186° (S)
1.4ft @ 15s from 178° (S)
Lanai
1.8ft @ 13s from 184° (S)
1.7ft @ 15s from 181° (S)
No sign yet of the Tasman Sea swell predicted for the weekend, but still some small southerly energy at the buoys. Check the Lahaina
or Kihei
webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Not as clean as usual this morning, but with occasional decent size sets.
North shore
Waimea
3.2ft @ 9s from 328° (NW)
Pauwela
4.5ft @ 8s from 68° (ENE)
NW energy disappeared everywhere but at Waimea (which is the most protected from the windswell). Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest and some wind.
Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
