Kanaha yesterday.
Hookipa yesterday at sunset. Waves came up a bit but not as much as Surfline predicted (Waimea was only 2ft 13s while Surfline was calling for 3ft 15s locally).
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
- 2.8ft, 13s, SSW 195º
- 1.5ft, 14s, S 170º
Also today the Lanai readings are better than what the webcam shows. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW001
- 4.9ft, 11s, NNW 335º
Hanalei
- 5.3ft, 12s, NNW 340º
Waimea
- 3.2ft, 11s, NNW 335º
Moderate NNW energy at the buoys. Home guess for Hookipa is head to occasionally head and a half and clean thanks to the lack of wind in the morning.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
