Hookipa yesterday.
The last six days I did 12 downwind runs, 2 with the wing and 10 with the Foil Drive and the paddle. I admit in the middle of a crush for the latter kind, after having preferred the wing ones for the last couple of years. Different speed (although slower), different foils, different lines, different level of physical intensity... I guess the key word there is different.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 2.6ft, 13s, S 180º
- 1.2ft, 15s, S 180º
Lanai
- 2.4ft, 15s, SSE 160º
- 2ft, 12s, S 180º
Couple of different small swells at the buoys.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Waimea
- 2.8ft, 6s, NE 40º
- 1.6ft, 10s, N 355º
Mokapu
- 4.6ft, 6s, ENE 75º
Mostly easterly windswell at the buoys, with a tad of 10s N energy at Waimea. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high.
