Hookipa yesterday. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.
5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
- 2.7ft, 13s, S 190º
Lanai
- 2.7ft, 12s, S 190º
- 0.9ft, 15s, SSW 195º
Lanai shows almost a foot 15s of the Tasman Sea swell I posted the fetch of yesterday, while there's still southerly 12-13s energy in the water. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested,
for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
N
- 5.1ft, 8s, N 0º
Hanalei
- 2.8ft, 9s, N 5º
Waimea
- 3.5ft, 10s, N 355º
Smallish period northerly energy is declining, but it will continue for the next few days. Home guess for Hookipa is shoulder to head high and no wind in the early morning, specially down the coast towards Kahului.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
