Friday 12 25 20 morning call

Thanks to blog readers Kathy and Enzo for the donations.

As usual, I use the last week of the year to ask for donations to show the appreciation for the 2020 season of the MSR blog.

Middles looked amazing yesterday morning. 10 minutes later, in the parking lot I was getting ready for my session next to this guy who came in after this wave and claimed he had a lot of fun... no wonder, I can see why!

Unfortunately a week old rib injury got aggravated while I was paddling for a wave, so I'm out of the water for a bit.

That should result in late post times but possibly more photos. Middles again later in the morning when the wind picked up.

My pick of Jimmie Hepp's album of the day.

Bernd went out late.

6am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
5ft @ 14s from 187° (S)

Lanai is probably confusing the NW wrap for a south swell, there's still energy from the south, but it definitely is not as big as what it reports. It is pretty solid though, check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency. Decent set at the Breakwall.

North shore
NW101
8.3ft @ 14s from 347° (NNW)

Waimea
6.6ft @ 14s from 315° (NW)

NW swell peaked yesterday, today it should be smaller, but still pretty solid. Hookipa probably head and a half to possibly double to start the day with.

Wind map at noon .The other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
