As usual, I use the last week of the year to ask for donations to show the appreciation for the 2020 season of the MSR blog. Thanks again to all the blog readers that donated during the year.
The south swell yesterday was pumping also on the Makena side. Photo by James Flynn.
6am significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
4.2ft @ 17s from 178° (S)
Solid numbers at the Lanai buoy, check the Lahaina webcam
if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW101
11.2ft @ 15s from 333° (NNW)
Waimea
7.7ft @ 15s from 317° (NW)
Long period NW swell showed with some overhead sets at Hookipa, but then picked up pretty solid during the night. Judging from Waimea, Hookipa might still be surfable, but not by many. Other more sheltered spots on the north shore might be accessible to the common mortals.
Wind map at noon .The other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked).
