For the third day in a row, I'm going to mention the feeling of snowboarding on air while carving on a foil. This time is Paige Alms executing, in a photo from yesterday by Jason Hall.
The camera focused on the plant, but the photo still shows a bit of left and right action at Pavillions.
4am Surfline
significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.5ft @ 14s from 182° (S)
Lanai
1ft @ 14s from 184° (S)
Southerly energy down to only 1ft 14s at Lanai.
Below are the maps of July 18 through 24. With the exception of the fetch on the first one (only 0.5ft 18s predicted by Surfline from it today though, and I don't even see it at the buoys), there have not been any fetches of particular interest. I'm afraid next week is going to be a small one on the south shores. Good, I need to get ready for my trip.
Check the Lahaina
webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
Pauwela (5am)
Easterly windswell is still up at Pauwela. Home
guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high and sloppy, bigger on eastern
exposures.
Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
