Thursday 7 15 21 moning call

No photos from yesterday. Facebook memories brought back this shot I took at Balangan 9 years ago.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.3ft @ 14s from 195° (SSW)

Lanai

1.3ft @ 14s from 190° (S)
1ft @ 11s from 183° (S)

Small southerly energy at the buoys, just enough to keep flatness at bay. Forecast and energy spectrum of Lanai from this PACIOOS page.

Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Pauwela

4.8ft @ 9s from 53° (ENE)
3.9ft @ 6s from 62° (ENE)

Windswell went up as predicted (check the PACIOOS forecast below), below are the maps of July 11 through 15 that show the well oriented and elongated fetch that generated (and still is generating) the unblocked ENE 9s energy we will receive for the next several days.

A fairly high local windswell will add on top of that. The Windguru table below shows lots of red for the next 10 days. IMO, red is only good for downwinders.

Home guess for Hookipa is around chest to head high and sloppy. Bigger on eastern exposures.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).

Fetches map
