Thursday 7 1 21 morning call

South shore yesterday. This kid gave it a try with the wind and a longboard, but the wind got too light for him to catch a wave. A windsurf sail is a lot better for that application, imo.

Yesterday I posted a lucky foil ride at low tide. This one wasn't as lucky.
The thumbnail picture shows the board leash I use for both SUP and Wing foiling: a 4 feet coiled leash DaKine bodyboard leash to which I replace the bicep cuff with an ankle one. The leash never touches the water while foiling.

2-3am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
2.9ft @ 15s from 194° (SSW)

2.6ft @ 14s from 189° (S)

Good numbers at the buoys, check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
3.7ft @ 7s from 88° (E)

Small easterly windswell at Pauwela. Hookipa virtually flat, maybe tiny waves at Pavils.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
