Nice line on this shorebreak beauty at Paia Bay. What a perfect playground for the north shore kids.
4am Surfline
significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
5.2ft @ 13s from 294° (WNW)
Big wrap from the west at Lanai, yesterday evening there were waves on the Kihei side and most likely there will be also today, even though the swell did turn more north during the night. All the Maui shadow lines are in the post Buoys to Maui travel times and Maui's shadow lines.
Check the Kihei webcam and the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW101
11.8ft @ 12s from 314° (NW)
NW001
8.7ft @ 15s from 288° (WNW)
Pauwela
Very different directions at the NW buoys, what counts are the 10ft 14s from 327 (after the wrap around the upstream islands) at Pauwela. Plenty size at Hookipa (home guess is double overhead plus), gradually declining towards Kahului. Wind conditions should be favorable in the morning.
Wind map at noon.
While waiting for the usual wind maps to come back online, here's another version of the same model on this PACIOOS page.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked).
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
