Another excellent day at Hookipa. These are the photos I took starting from a couple of bottom to top turn combos by Ian Walsh, separated by a bit of Annie, for good measure.
4am Surfline
significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
2.6ft @ 13s from 258° (WSW)
Lanai shows a westerly wrap that might bring something to the Kihei
coast also today (there were waves the past couple of days). The Lahaina coast doesn't get as much of it, but I still recommend
to check both the Lahaina
or Kihei
webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW101
7.6ft @ 13s from 318° (NW)
Pauwela
Medium period NW energy continues pretty steady at the buoys. Judging by the significant wave height at the NW one, today there should actually be an increase in the afternoon. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half to start the day with.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found at link n.-2 of GP's meteo websites list in the right column (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
